Trevor Rogers has yet to pitch beyond the fifth inning in his three-game Orioles tenure. Zach Eflin has exceeded expectations, but the O’s could use a boost from the other pitcher acquired at the deadline.
Fellow acquisitions Austin Slater and Eloy Jiménez will both receive a chance to make an impact tonight. Slater will leadoff and play left field against left-handed starter David Peterson, and Jiménez will slot in as the DH.
Colton Cowser and Anthony Santander will complete the outfield with Cedric Mullins beginning the game on the bench. Ryan Mountcastle will play first base, while Ryan O’Hearn waits for a pinch-hit opportunity against a righty reliever.
