Now that the Orioles have been good for multiple seasons and every one of their picks in the top 5 from 2019-2022 has at least debuted in MLB, the O’s have to have a different approach to the draft. It’s still important that they make good picks, but they aren’t getting players from the consensus top tier of talent, and they don’t have a draft bonus pool of a size that lets them get creative. Maintaining the talent pipeline without that is more of a challenge.
A question that is not really answered by the draft choices that the Orioles have made so far this season is: Where are they going to get pitchers in the future?
