Orioles pitchers Mike Wright and Tyler Wilson rode from Sarasota to JetBlue Stadium together Monday, then possibly capped a spring when they’ve been lumped together in their rise from minor league depth to starting rotation candidates as well as either could imagine.
Wright pitched five innings of one-run, four hit ball against a full-strength Boston lineup in the Orioles’ 5-3 win over the Red Sox, then gave way to Wilson, who worked around two base-hits for a pair of scoreless relief innings.
The two complimented one another profusely after they left the game, then manager Buck Showalter joined in.
