Mike Wright and Tyler Wilson pitch well in Orioles' exhibition opener

Right-handers Mike Wright and Tyler Wilson are expected to compete all spring for either a long-relief role at the major league level or the chance to be the first starting pitcher to come up on the Norfolk shuttle. Tuesday was a good day for both.

Wright started the Orioles' exhibition opener against the Atlanta Braves and pitched two scoreless innings. He threw 20 of his 27 pitches for strikes, struck out two and got three groundouts. Wilson allowed a couple of hits, but struck out Braves slugger Freddie Freeman with two runners in scoring position to get out of the third inning.
