Three wheelchair users have filed a lawsuit against the Baltimore Orioles and the Maryland Stadium Authority, alleging the stadium has never complied with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The complaint was filed in Baltimore City Circuit Court Friday on behalf of Henry Claypool, Andrew D. Levy and Kelly Buckland.
“The Baltimore Orioles recognized Celebrate ADA Day on July 26, but simply celebrating the ADA means little to wheelchair users who are denied the full fan experience at such a beautiful ballpark," attorney Kevin D. Docherty of Brown, Goldstein & Levy said in a statement. "The best way for the Orioles to honor the ADA and demonstrate their commitment to accessibility would be by ensuring that all of the wheelchair accessible seating at Camden Yards actually complies with the law’s requirements.
