Jones launches 200th career homer

BALTIMORE -- Orioles center fielder Adam Jones continued his recent hot streak on Friday night and reached a major career milestone in the process.

Jones launched a solo home run off the Tigers' Justin Verlander in the sixth inning, breaking a 0-0 tie and giving him 200 career homers. All but three of those have come with the Orioles, who acquired Jones from the Mariners before the 2008 season.

Jones, who ranks seventh on Baltimore's all-time homer list, was slumping early this season. He had a .543 OPS, one homer and nine RBIs through his first 26 games but has caught fire since then.
