Jones (hip, ankle) scratched from O's lineup

BALTIMORE -- Adam Jones was a late scratch from the Orioles' lineup on Memorial Day, missing his third consecutive game as he deals with a left hip and ankle injury.

Jones was initially in Monday's lineup against the Yankees, though manager Buck Showalter cautioned reporters pregame that he wanted to check on the center fielder again, and that Jones starting wasn't concrete.

Jones was replaced in center by Joey Rickard, who hit leadoff in the series opener. Jones, who last played Friday, is batting .258 with eight homers and 21 RBIs in 45 games this season.
