Utility man Steve Pearce is coming back to Baltimore, thanks to a deal made at the non-waiver trade deadline with the Tampa Bay Rays, according to multiple national reports.
The Orioles sent Jonah Heim, a catcher in Single-A Frederick, the other way in the deal. It's their second deal in as many days. On Sunday, the Orioles sent pitching prospect Ariel Miranda to the Seattle Mariners for starter Wade Miley.
Also last week, they signed former Cincinnati Reds reliever Logan Ondrusek, released days earlier by Japan's Tokyo Yakult Swallows.
Pearce was a fan-favorite in his last two seasons in Baltimore.
