Hard-throwing lefty reliever Tanner Scott's 'fast track' to Orioles to start in High-A Frederick

After young left-handed reliever Tanner Scott made appearances in spring training games this year, Orioles manager Buck Showalter would smile and wave his arms down as if to tamp down the attention his 100-mph fastball inevitably draws.

No matter how hard he tries, it’s hard to deny what the Orioles could have in Scott, their 2014 sixth-round MLB Draft pick.

“I think that’s pretty obvious — Tanner Scott is probably the premier left-handed pitcher in this organization,” said High-A Frederick Keys manager Keith Bodie, who will have Scott to start the season.
