BALTIMORE -- As the Orioles continue to revamp their current roster, they're also taking the time to honor the past. Hall of Famer Eddie Murray has joined the club as a special advisor, the team announced prior to Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Murray is the second O's legend to join the club in an advisory role this month, as the club welcomed back Brooks Robinson two weeks ago. Murray made his debut for the Orioles in 1977 and spent most of his career with Baltimore, ranking fourth in team history in games played and hits.
The 62-year-old Murray was an eight-time All-Star, a three-time Gold Glove winner and a three-time time Silver Slugger.
