Gausman has injection for shoulder tendinitis

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Orioles starter Kevin Gausman received a cortisone injection on Sunday for a case of lingering tendinitis in his right shoulder, manager Buck Showalter said. The right-hander is not expected to pick up a ball for at least two or three days.

"I don't know if it's a big concern," Showalter said before Sunday afternoon's game against the Rays. "He's had some inflammation there. We just want to get rid of that. [The medical staff] feels good about it structurally. It just hasn't managed to go away completely, so we've got some time here to try to clear it up before we break camp.
