Gallardo's shoulder rehab progressing

BALTIMORE -- Yovani Gallardo continues to progress in his shoulder rehab as the right-hander felt good after Monday's flat-ground session at 90 feet and will go back-to-back from 120 feet starting on Wednesday.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter seemed encouraged with the process regarding Gallardo, who has been sidelined with shoulder tendinitis, and it's possible he gets on a mound on Sunday.

Once Gallardo throws off a mound, he'll likely need a couple of bullpen sessions before the O's consider a rehab assignment. Gallardo has never been on the disabled list for an arm injury until this, and both he and the O's are hoping the rest will give him a fresh arm for when he returns.
