ST. PETERSBURG -- Yovani Gallardo re-joined the Orioles in St. Petersburg on Monday, and he will remain with the team while he rests from a cortisone injection in his right biceps.
Gallardo was placed on the disabled list on Saturday after he exited Friday's start after just two innings with the injury. He had an MRI on Sunday that didn't show anything new, and the Orioles are taking that as a positive sign.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he's encouraged by the diagnosis after talking to the team's medical staff, and he reminded reporters that Gallardo got a late start to Spring Training.
