It is Friday night.
The Orioles have beaten the Astros, 7-5, thanks to a dramatic come-from-behind grand slam hit by Anthony Santander to fuel most of a five-run eighth inning. As MASN’s Kevin Brown noted, it’s been three months since the Orioles pulled off such a substantial comeback in the eighth or ninth innings. They were on the way to another miserable loss with disappointing hitting and then, suddenly, they weren’t.
The team maintains its 1.5 game deficit in the AL East to the Yankees and expanded its lead for any postseason spot as the Red Sox lost big to the Diamondbacks.
