Former Orioles outfielder Travis Snider is getting a new opportunity in the independent Atlantic League.
The Long Island Ducks announced the signing of Snider, who played with the Orioles for 69 games in 2015, on Thursday. He last played in the majors with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2015 after being released by the Orioles.
Snider, 30, was a first-round pick (14th overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2006. In an eight-year career with the Blue Jays, Pirates and Orioles, Snider hit .244 with 54 home runs and 212 RBI.
