BALTIMORE -- Seth Smith singled in the third inning... and then made it all the way home.
The O's outfielder was part of a bizarre sequence of events in Wednesday's Orioles-Rays game that led to Baltimore plating a pair of runs. Smith knocked a two-out single to center field, then advanced to second on Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier's error, with Ryan Flaherty advancing to third on the hit.
Kiermaier's throw to third came in behind Flaherty's slide and skipped past the base. Flaherty took a few steps toward home as the throw was corraled by Alex Cobb, before jumping back toward third.
