Shortstop Everth Cabrera is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Friday after missing the last two weeks with a bruised left foot and is likely to return this weekend in Miami, Showalter said Thursday.
“He’s physically ready to play and an option to be activated tomorrow in Miami,” Showalter said. “I don’t see a reason why he wouldn’t be.”
The 28-year-old Cabrera, a 2013 All-Star who the Orioles signed away from the San Diego Padres this offseason, has batted .205 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs in 23 games this season.
Showalter said Cabrera would likely play Thursday with Triple-A Norfolk.
