LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers are close to announcing a trade of left-handed pitcher Vidal Nuno to Baltimore, a transaction that would open a roster spot for the anticipated signing of free-agent outfielder Franklin Gutierrez.
The club has not confirmed either move.
According to a report by the Baltimore Sun, the Dodgers would receive Minor League pitcher Ryan Moseley for Nuno. Moseley, 22, had a 3.20 ERA in 12 relief appearances Class A after being taken in the eighth round by the Orioles last summer out of Texas Tech. Nuno was acquired from Seattle for backup catcher Carlos Ruiz in November.
