Another Orioles prospect is joining the big league team. Connor Norby, a second baseman by trade who’s also played the corner outfield with Triple-A Norfolk this year, is on his way to join the O’s in Toronto. The Baltimore Sun’s Matt Weyrich spotted Norby boarding a flight on Monday morning, and ESPN’s Jeff Passan delivered the first confirmation that Norby is being called up to the team today.
Also boarding Norby’s flight, according to Weyrich, was lefty reliever Nick Vespi. This seems to set up a coming roster shuffle on Monday afternoon that most likely involves Jorge Mateo being placed on the 7-day concussion injured list after he was inadvertently struck by Cedric Mullins with a bat as Mullins loosened up for an at-bat on Sunday.
