Chris Davis has been the poster boy for the Orioles’ offensive woes this month. And following another frustrating loss Tuesday night, he broke down his struggles easily, saying he just needs to stop swinging at pitches out of the strike zone.
One day later, Davis -- who hasn’t hit a homer in 16 days -- recorded his first multi-homer game of the season, giving the Orioles a 5-4 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday, hitting a solo blast in the bottom of the eighth that landed deep in the right-center-field bleachers.
Davis’ game-winning blast, which came against left-handed reliever Tony Sipp, was just his second of 10 home runs this season against a left-hander.
