For the Orioles to have any hope of getting back in the playoff race, they’re going to need their power bats to get hot quickly.
Chris Davis is definitely doing his part. The slugging first baseman came through for his second straight two-homer game in Friday night’s series opener in Toronto, as the Orioles hit four homers for a 10-2 victory over the division-leading Blue Jays.
Just how hot is Davis? After sending Drew Hutchison’s first-pitch 91-mph fastball into the left-center stands in the sixth inning for a two-run homer — his second of the night and 40th of the season — Davis had hit five homers in eight at-bats.
