She may work in Washington now, but she has longtime Baltimore ties.
Perhaps that's why Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden is throwing out the first pitch when the Baltimore Orioles host the Washington Nationals at Camden Yards on Monday. It's the first of four games--two in Baltimore, two in Washington--between the two teams next week.
She's practicing in the halls of her Capitol Hill offices.

Hayden, the longtime former CEO of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, left that post last year when the Senate confirmed her to serve a 10-year term running the Library of Congress.
