The Orioles wrapped the first half of the 2015 season by dropping two of three to the Nationals and losing 10 of their last 13 games. Friday night, the Birds kicked off an important nine game road trip by falling 7-3 to the Tigers in Detroit.
With that loss, the O’s have fallen below .500 (44-45) for the first time since June 11. Baltimore’s offense went just 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position and Ubaldo Jimenez surrendered seven earned runs over 4.2 innings pitched.
Despite the discouraging loss, O’s manager Buck Showalter remains optimistic about his club int he second half.
