Showalter refused to rule Bourn out for Opening Day.

"If we had to push the envelope, we could," Showalter said.

The Orioles signed infielder Paul Janish to a Minor League contract on Saturday. It's the third straight year Janish has signed a Minors contract with an invitation to Spring Training.

"Paul's a very good defender," Showalter said. "He's a very reliable baseball player.
