It’s not often you hear the words: Baltimore Orioles and first pick in the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft, but it’s a reality now. As much as it’s painful to hear, it’s necessary in order for the organization to become a contender once again.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter brought hope and excitement that hadn’t happened in Baltimore since the Cal Ripken, Rafael Palmeiro, Mike Mussina days. It looks like the Showalter era in Baltimore is over and it’s time to move on and get younger.
The last few World Series Champions had the worst record in baseball and restocked the farm system with top draft picks and that bodes well for the Orioles.
