Baltimore Orioles: Jimenez will try to right the ship

The Orioles could not have produced a pair of more night-and-day performances than they did this week, in Tuesday’s 10-2 shellacking at the hands of Toronto, featuring everything a team can do badly on a baseball field, and then Wednesday’s 6-1 win, featuring almost everything that can go right.

Last night’s 3-1 loss was another too little, too late story, with one run arriving in the eighth inning on J.J. Hardy‘s solo home run (now there’s a shocker) off starter Jered Weaver. The last-place Orioles are averaging 3.1 runs over their past 13 games. Weaver allowed a run on three hits in 7 1/3.
