The Red Sox pitching staff has been struggling in the month of May, and the Baltimore Orioles took full advantage on Friday night. After dropping the first game of the series, the Birds bounced back with six extra-base hits to collect their first road win since April 8.
The Orioles never trailed during the game, scoring in the first inning after Mark Trumbo hit into a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded. A fourth inning rally off Sox starter Drew Pomeranz put them up by four, and a towering blast over the Green Monster by Jonathan Schoop provided the icing on the cake.
