If the Baltimore Orioles front office wasn’t looking to rebuild before, it is now. After a winless California road trip, the Birds are back on the East Coast, and at 8-26, they’re on pace to finish with just 38 wins, the lowest total in all of baseball.
Things won’t stay this bad for the entire season, but the Orioles’ weekend series against the Oakland Athletics didn’t exactly provide reason for optimism. O’s starters Kevin Gausman and Alex Cobb combined for a 0.60 ERA on Saturday and Sunday, but the lifeless lineup put them on the losing end of both games.
