Another day, another loss for the Baltimore Orioles. With a final score of 6-4, Friday night’s series opener against the Oakland Athletics wasn’t as quite demoralizing as some of the Birds’ other recent games, but that won’t ease the sting of a tenth consecutive road loss.
Adam Jones, appearing in his 1,500th game as an Oriole, got things going with a solo shot in the top of the first inning, but Baltimore didn’t hold on to that lead for long. Starter Andrew Cashner surrendered two home runs in the bottom of the frame, and by the time it was over, the A’s had a 4-1 lead.
