The Baltimore Orioles played spoiler this weekend as they took two out of three games from the rival Boston Red Sox.
Friday evening the O’s pounded the Red Sox 11-2, but Saturday Boston returned the favor with a 17-6 victory that forced Baltimore to pitch outfielder Stevie Wilkerson in the games final two innings.
In Sunday’s rubber match there was a little extra motivation for the Orioles as Andrew Cashner who the team traded to the Red Sox a little over a week ago took the mound.
The Orioles did not exactly welcome Cashner with open arms as in the first inning Trey Mancini hit his 20th home run of the season with a solo shot to give Baltimore an early lead.
