A Baltimore Orioles home jersey worn by Hall of Famer Frank Robinson in 1968 was auctioned for $38,400 Sunday night, auctioneer Robert Edward Auctions announced.
Bidding for the signed jersey started at $10,000. The auction drew 34 bids.
Produced long before advances in sports apparel, the flannel jersey has Orioles lettering across the front and Robinson's No. 20 on the left breast and back. "F. Robinson" is lettered above the number. Robinson, who died in February after a battle with cancer, signed "Frank Robinson #20" in blue below his number on the front.
