Kevin Gausman gave the Orioles the opportunity to win on Thursday night against the Washington Nationals, but it wasn’t enough to earn the win in what’s become a familiar scene for the Orioles’ right-hander.
For the fifth time this season, Gausman recorded a non-decision quality start in the Orioles’ 4-2 loss to their regional rivals on Thursday night at Nationals Park.
Gausman allowed just two runs over six innings in Thursday’s interleague series finale, holding the Nationals to just four hits while throwing a season-high 114 pitches.
Those four hits – however – did enough damage to take Gausman out of the decision.
