Since it's become apparent that the American League Wild Card game would be contested between the Twins and Yankees, everyone has had to pretend that the Twins might actually beat the Yankees in the playoffs, even though the Twins never beat the Yankees in the playoffs.
In truth, it's unfair to the current-day Twins to even bring all of that up. Barely any of the Twins current players were around or even in MLB at the time the most recent drubbing occurred, and the same is also true for most of the current Yankees roster as well.
