Albert Suárez gem wasted by Orioles bullpen, lack of run support in 2-1 loss to Rays

The last time that the Orioles won a game in which they scored fewer than four runs was July 5. There was a chance to snap this streak on Sunday afternoon, as Albert Suárez improbably pitched a career-high 6.2 innings in defense of a 1-0 lead, but then the bad parts of the O’s bullpen got into the mix and the 1-0 lead turned into a 2-1 loss at the hands of the Rays. The streak will roll on for at least another two days.

The sum of the Orioles run-scoring on Sunday afternoon was this: Anthony Santander hit a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning against Rays starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs.
