Orioles center fielder Adam Jones, whose body has been beaten and battered much of the season, is out of Monday’s lineup against the Washington Nationals.
It’s not a big deal, he said.
“It’s not a story. Just a normal human being takes his bumps and bruises and gets days off,” Jones said. “When other players get days off around the league, I don’t see them being talked to whenever they get a day off. They get a day off. There’s nothing wrong with that anymore.”
Assuming he doesn’t play today, Jones will have missed his 14th game this year due to myriad injuries including ankle, shoulder and wrist issues.
