25 years ago today, the O's traded for Glenn Davis. Fans never really wanted him.

In the Dec. 20, 1990, edition of The Sun, a reader prompt ran in the Sports section:

"The Orioles have talked with the Houston Astros about a possible trade that would involve first baseman Glenn Davis, who's 29 and eligible for free agency after the 1991 season. The Astros reportedly have mentioned first baseman Randy Milligan, righthanders Pete Harnisch and Curt Schilling, outfielder Steve Finley and top lefthanded prospect Arthur Rhodes in the talks. Davis hit 22 home runs in 327 at-bats last season and 34 the season before. Since he won't come cheaply, the question is, should the Orioles trade several young players for him?
