It’s All-Star Game time. And no matter how you feel about the annual Midsummer Classic — a must-see event, a pointless exhibition, or somewhere in between — we can all agree on one thing:
It’s really, really cool that Cedric Mullins is starting the All-Star Game.
In case you missed it, the O’s 2021 standout was named the starting center fielder for the American League in place of the injured Mike Trout, a well-deserved reward for a player who’s been one of the most sensational stories in baseball this year. Mullins’ stats have run laps around most other outfielders in the league, even the guys who were initially voted to start the All-Star Game over him, so he’s a great addition to the AL lineup.
