The Orioles' new pitching and bullpen coach have firsthand knowledge of what it's like to pitch for the Orioles. Roger McDowell and Alan Mills are to step into the respective roles next season, the team announced.
Roger McDowell takes over for pitching coach Dave Wallace, who retired from major league day-to-day duties and later took a job with the Atlanta Braves. McDowell, 55, spent the last 11 seasons as the Braves pitching coach himself. In that time, the Braves staff went 905-876 and ranked fourth among big league clubs.
