MUNCIE, Ind. — Zack Thompson remembers the chants. Playing in front of a crowd of 7,624 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, the fans started roaring U-S-A! U-S-A! as the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team beat Japan 4-0 on the Fourth of July.
It is the perfect visual when Thompson is describing a summer that he will never forget.
The Wapahani grad recently wrapped up his time with the college national team, which was made up of some of the top freshmen and sophomores from across the country. Thompson and his teammates finished the summer 12-3, all while taking in an experience that only the elite players get.
