GASTON, Ind. — With Brienna Bilbrey out sick for most of this week, Yorktown had to look elsewhere in the circle during the Delaware County Softball Tournament.
Bilbrey, a senior, has been Yorktown's ace since her sophomore season when she won 16 games. As this week showed, the Tigers have plenty of talent behind her.
Two freshmen, Kaylyn Coahran and Savannah Baker, combined to allow just two runs in three games to help Yorktown to its third straight county title. In the championship Saturday, Coahran tossed a complete-game shutout with 11 strikeouts to lead Yorktown to a 7-0 victory.
