YORKTOWN, Ind. — Watching Yorktown's boys basketball team play Friday night, it's hard to believe that that was the first time most of them were logging significant varsity minutes.
This season, the Tigers return three players — sophomore AJ Dunn along with seniors Walker Moore and Jamarius Evans — who played in 22 or more games for the Tigers a season ago. As for the rest? Well, Friday was their first opportunity to show that they can fill the shoes of the four seniors the Tigers graduated a season ago.
They did that, and then some.
During its season opener against Muncie Burris, there were times when Yorktown had three underclassmen out on the floor together.
