MUNCIE, Ind. — The way Alex Call sees it, every upcoming season is more critical to his career as a professional baseball player than the last.
A former third round pick out of Ball State University who went 86th overall in 2016, Call has spent each year at the minor league level of Major League Baseball working toward achieving his goal of reaching “the big leagues.” He dedicated himself this past offseason to putting in the work that would enable him to play well in 2020 and move up the ranks in Cleveland’s organization. Call, who spent 2019 at the Double-A level with the Akron RubberDucks, was looking forward to a full, healthy season in which he could showcase his skills.
