PARKER CITY — There’s plenty of senior leadership on both Wapahani and Monroe Central’s boys basketball teams, but at times, the matchup between them Friday night felt like a game centered on young talent, not old.
With two sophomores — Wapahani's Peyton West and Monroe Central's Israel Nash — running their team’s respective offenses, the pressure was on young players with small resumes to lead a team of juniors and seniors.
West and Nash controlled the tempo in Wapahani’s 62-48 win over Monroe Central. They guarded each other roughly half the time, two of the most explosive players on the court trying to score and stop one another.
