MUNCIE, Ind. — When it was all over and Yorktown achieved the 14th perfect season in IHSAA volleyball history, Stephanie Bloom wrapped her longtime assistant Rhonda Wilson in a long hug. Bloom didn’t let go for 15 seconds as she fought back tears. She had coached state title teams before, but this was different. The Tigers were flawless in 2018, 34 wins and no losses, the last being a sweep of Avon on Saturday in the Class 4A state championship.
Bloom’s Class 3A program swept 4A programs all year long and then won the 4A title.
