YORKTOWN, Ind. — Yorktown High School has shut down its volleyball program until Aug. 27 and canceled all athletic practices and contests for the next two days (Aug. 17-18), per an announcement Monday morning.
The announcement, which was posted by athletic director Paul Heidenreich on the Yorktown athletics' website, said:
"After meeting with administration this morning in regards to our COVID-19 situation we are going to be pausing high school athletic practices and contests for the next 48 hours (August 17 & August 18). No practices or contests will occur. We are in the process of still collecting data and assessing information and a decision about the remainder of the week will be determined in the near future.
