Jared Turner arrived in Boston on Saturday morning, and he immediately noticed how much the city had changed since the last time he was there to race, in 2010.
The Yorktown cross country and track and field coach got his bib number for Monday’s Boston Marathon, then explored the city. He walked to the expo Saturday afternoon and saw all of the memorials set up and people taking pictures where the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 took place.
“There’s definitely a feeling in the city, that it was an event that made this marathon mean more, and I guess made this city a little closer, I think,” Turner said.
