Yorktown softball coach Jeff Berger expected this and he didn’t.
He looked at the schedule. He looked at his roster. He thought about his team’s potential. He thought about what might stand between it and its goals. Berger was confident in his team’s trajectory.
But this electric an offense? This many double-digit wins in April? Now the Tigers are trying to temper expectations as they continue to foster the infectious energy that’s brought them here. They’re saying, while what’s happened isn’t a fluke, their offense will cool off to some degree.
