MUNCIE, Ind. — The Yorktown girls cross country team set the lofty goals in the preseason, like most teams do. Unlike most teams, though, the Tigers have the firepower up and down the lineup to make those goals a reality.
Behind a solid pack at the top, Yorktown cruised to the team title with 43 points, comfortably ahead of Pendleton Heights (68) and Delta (114). It is Yorktown's first girls cross country regional title (the Tigers lost out on a tiebreaker to Delta in 2003), and it was Delaware County's first since Wapahani won in 2006.
