MUNCIE, Ind. — In nearly every event at the Delta girls track and field sectional, Yorktown seemed to have one of its athletes pushing toward the front of the pack.
The Tigers, who won five of the 16 events on the day, seemed to feed off of each other's success as the meet went on.
Emilee Hill, a double-winner in the long jump (16-11) and 100-meter hurdles (15.79), Missy Riegle, who won the pole vault (9-6) and finished third in the 200 (27.29), Brooke Miles, who finished second in the 100 (13.19) and 200 (27), Gretchen Moore, who won the discus (103-10), and its 4x100 relay team of Carley Culberson, who also finished third in the long jump (16-0), Xandria Carter, Paige Taylor and Paige Brooks, all set the Tigers up to achieve what they had been working on all season: a sectional championship.
