YORKTOWN, Ind. — Sophomore Carley Culberson is a rising basketball star at Yorktown. She also has a passion for playing football. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.
Now that Culberson is a few months removed from ACL reconstruction surgery, it's easy to say she shouldn't have played. And she hears it all the time. Things like "You're a girl," and "You have a promising basketball career, why would you try out for the football team?"
Culberson won't say anything back, but truthfully? She doesn't really care what anybody has to say about it.
"Obviously I care what people think, but with hate, I don’t," she said.
